Description
PURPOSE
«ALMUNO Antibiotic Tetracycline» Kit is intended for quantitative determination of tetracyclines by ELISA in the following matrices:
- milk (raw, pasteurized, sterilized), cream, reconstituted milk powder, dairy desserts, butter, condensed milk, ice cream, milk-based shakes (including yoghurt), reconstituted milk powder for infant food;
- cheese, cottage cheese and cottage cheese products, fermented milk products (ayran, yoghurt), sour cream, buttermilk, whey, reconstituted whey powder;
- meat, meat products, ready-made meat products, semi-finished meat and meat-growing products, canned meat and meat-growing products, lard, bacon, animal fats, by-products;
- fish, processed and unprocessed fish products of animal origin, including for infant food (culinary products and semi-finished fish products, canned and preserved fish, caviar, cooked and frozen fish products), shrimps;
- eggs, egg powder;
- honey.
PRINCIPLE OF METHOD
The method is based on a competitive colourimetric enzyme immunoassay. During the assay, tetracycline in the sample competes with the antibiotic immobilised on the surface of the microplate wells for binding to antibodies to tetracycline. The resulting immunocomplexes are detected using horseradish peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibodies. The concentration of tetracycline in the sample is determined from a calibration curve constructed using 6 calibration solutions.
