«ALMASS Bio» configuration:
«ALMASS Bio» reagent kit, in «ALMASS Bio 9K» configuration is intended for sample preparation of microorganisms of 3-4 pathogenicity groups, isolated from clinical samples, when determining their species affiliation, and for calibration of MALDI-TOFMS mass spectrometers as an auxiliary tool for in vitro diagnostics of infectious diseases of the population.

«ALMASS Bio» reagent kit, in «ALMASS Bio 9K» configuration contains the following components: «ALMASS Bio Solvent» reagent, «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent and «ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagent.
- «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent is a purified protein extract of Escherichia coli DH5 alpha strain that exhibits a typical protein profile of the bacterium during mass spectrometric analysis and is used for mass calibration.
- «ALMASS Bio Solvent» reagent is a solvent for «ALMASS Bio Standart» and «ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagents.
- «ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagent (α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid, CHCA) is used as a matrix for «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent and analyzed samples, providing reduction of laser radiation destructive effect during analysis.
«ALMASS Bio» reagent kit is used for mass calibration according to the typical protein profile of Escherichia coli bacteria for mass spectrometer, which is a part of «ALMASS Bio» mass spectrometric analysis system (Algimed Techno LLC, Russia), and similar MALDI-TOFMS mass spectrometers. The method principle is based on the treatment of analyzed microorganism samples with a material (matrix) reducing destructive properties of laser radiation and obtaining mass spectra of their protein profiles.
«ALMASS Bio» reagent kit, «ALMASS Bio 9К» configuration is available in a set sufficient for at least 9000 identifications (at least 630 application points of «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent for calibration):
Part 1:
- «ALMASS Bio Solvent» – 1,2 ml x 13 vials;
- «ALMASS Bio Matrix» – 15 mg x 10 tubes.
Part 2:
- «ALMASS Bio Standart» – 1 mg x 3 tubes.
Note – the number of identifications is specified for mass calibration when working with the «ALMASS Bio» system for mass-spectrometric analysis according to TU 26.60.12-008-57564538-2022 produced by Algimed Techno LLC; the number of identifications may differ when working with MALDI-TOFMS mass-spectrometers of other manufacturers.
