«ALMUNO CSF ELISA» reagent kit for the detection of specific antibodies against Classical Swine Fever virus in swine serum or plasma by ELISA.

Classical swine fever (CSF), or hog cholera, is a highly contagious multisystem viral disease characterized by fever, blood vessel and hematopoietic organ damage, and croup-diphtheria-induced inflammation of the colon mucosa. CSF can occur in acute, subacute, chronic and latent forms. The mortality is 80–100%. Classical swine fever is registered in all countries and causes enormous economic damage.

The infectious agent is Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSFV), an RNA-containing virus of the Pestivirus genus of the Flaviviridae family. The virus affects domestic and wild pigs regardless of breed and age. The pathogen source is sick pigs that shed the virus with urine, feces and secretions.

Diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical and epizootological data and confirmed by laboratory tests. The disease prevention includes livestock vaccination. Postvaccination immunity is assessed by detection of specific antibodies in pigs and piglets by ELISA.

Reagent kits of product form 1 are designed for 192 samples, including control samples. Reagent kits of product form 2 are designed for 480 samples, including control samples.
