Description
PURPOSE
«ALPREP Forensic Express» Extraction kit is intended for use in forensic practice when carrying out genetic examinations, as well as for research purposes for work with biological samples of humans and animals. It allows to extract DNA from a wide range of forensic and biological samples, suitable for subsequent analysis by polymerase chain reaction. It is recommended to additionally use proteinase K («ALZYME K») for lysis of complex matrices, which is not included in the kit.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
Assay principle is based on the purification of DNA using an ion exchange resin that precipitates out of solution together with cellular components after centrifugation, while the DNA remains in solution. The resin particles selectively bind polyvalent metal ions, which prevents nucleic acid degradation and facilitates the removal of major PCR inhibitors. This method allows to obtain DNA preparation with minimal probability of contamination and low time consumption, which ensures high productivity of the laboratory.
