Description
PURPOSE
«ALPREP Spin Blood Auto» Extraction kit is designed for automated DNA extraction using the spin-column sorption method from whole blood samples (fresh or frozen) containing common anticoagulants like EDTA, citrate, and heparin.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
Samples treated with anticoagulants such as citrate, EDTA, and heparin are suitable for analysis. The extraction procedure includes proteinase treatment of the sample. Due to the presence of chaotropic substances in the lysis and precipitation buffers, DNA adsorbs onto the silica gel membrane of the columns and is then washed free of potential inhibitors using wash buffers. A series of subsequent washes ensures the production of a highly purified DNA preparation, which is then dissolved in an elution buffer for subsequent use in PCR. The yield and quality of the purified DNA depend on the storage conditions of the blood.
BIOMATERIAL FOR ANALYSIS
- Fresh human or animal blood samples treated with anticoagulants;
- Frozen human or animal blood samples treated with anticoagulants.
