Description
PURPOSE
«ALPREP Milk-M» Reagent kit is designed to extract DNA/RNA from milk samples and dairy products. Extracted DNA/RNA can be used for further analysis using PCR and reverse transcription PCR.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
The principle of reagent kit is based on reversible binding of nucleic acids to the surface of magnetic particles, which are easily precipitated from the suspension using a magnetic stand after treatment with the kit components.
DNA extraction and purification protocol includes:
- preliminary sample treatment (manual procedures vary for different types of samples);
- lysis and precipitation of impurities with special buffers, treatment with proteinase K;
- two-stage sample washing;
- sorption of nucleic acids by a magnetic sorbent and its subsequent precipitation on a magnetic stand;
- elution and precipitation of magnetic particles followed by collection of the supernatant containing nucleic acids.
BIOMATERIAL FOR ANALYSIS
- milk (whole, pasteurized);
- dairy products (kefir, sour cream, cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, butter, ice cream, etc.).
