Description
PURPOSE
«ALPREP Gel Magnetic» Purification kit is designed for DNA extraction from agarose gel and subsequent purification using the method of magnetic sorption. It is suitable for use with agarose gels based on TAE (Tris-Acetate-EDTA) and TBE (Tris-Borate-EDTA) buffer solutions. The extracted DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction, ligation, and sequencing by Sanger and NGS methods, as well as in other applications of genetic engineering.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
The principle of reagent kit is based on the method of reversible nucleic acid binding to the surface of magnetic sorbent particles. The excised gel is treated with a denaturing buffer, resulting in the melting of the agarose gel and the release of nucleic acids from it. The dissolved DNA binds to the sorbent particles, then it is washed free from gel residues with wash solutions and eluted in a low-salt buffer.
