Description
PURPOSE
«ALPREP Spin Blood» Extraction kit is designed for DNA extraction using the spin-column sorption method from whole blood samples (fresh or frozen) containing anticoagulants like EDTA, citrate, and heparin. The kit includes reagents that ensure excellent extraction of highly purified DNA and the removal of inhibitors.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
Samples treated with anticoagulants such as citrate, EDTA, and heparin are suitable for analysis. The extraction procedure includes proteinase treatment of the sample. Thanks to the presence of chaotropic substances in the lysis and precipitation buffers, DNA adheres to the silica gel membrane of the columns and is then washed free of potential inhibitors using wash buffers. The yield and quality of the DNA preparation depend on the storage and transportation conditions of the samples.
BIOMATERIAL FOR ANALYSIS
- Fresh human or animal blood samples treated with anticoagulants;
- Frozen human or animal blood samples treated with anticoagulants.
ADVANTAGES
- Contains reagents that ensure the extraction of highly purified DNA and the removal of PCR inhibitors;
- Includes Proteinase K, which speeds up the lysis of complex matrices;
