Description
PURPOSE
«ALSENSE Bos taurus» Kits are intended for genetic testing (genotyping) of cattle using real-time PCR (qPCR). The series covers a wide range of economically important traits, including:
- milk productivity and composition;
- meat quality and growth characteristics;
- reproductive characteristics;
- exterior features;
- resistance to hereditary disorders.
The kits are designed for use in veterinary and molecular genetics research laboratories.
Applications
- Detection of alleles and mutations associated with productivity and product quality (CSN3, BLG, LALBA, DGAT1, ABCG2, etc.);
- Genotyping of genes related to growth and meat traits (GH1, MSTN, TG5, CAPN1, CAST);
- Identification of reproductive markers (PRL, LEPR, Pit1);
- Determination of exterior features (MC1R, MF, MFN2, POLLED);
- Verification of breed purity;
- Use in marker-assisted selection and genomic research programs in cattle breeding.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
The kits are based on real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) using TaqMan® probes. The testing procedure includes two main stages: DNA extraction (sample preparation) and Amplification of the target genetic locus of Bos taurus in real-time PCR using the ALSENSE Bos taurus Kit.
DNA extraction should be performed according to the instructions of the selected extraction kit. It is recommended to use:
- ALPREP Prelysis Kit – for cartilage tissue samples;
- ALPREP M-Sorb Blood Kit – for blood samples;
- ALVETPREP or equivalent kits – for biological material.
ADVANTAGES
- Wide range of genetic solutions: the kits are designed for molecular evaluation of key cattle traits and for comprehensive genomic studies;
- High accuracy and reproducibility ensured by qPCR methodology and built-in controls;
- Available formats: 24, 48 and 96 reactions – suitable for laboratories of any scale;
- Compatibility: adapted for real-time PCR instruments such as 7500 Fast / Real-Time PCR System, QuantStudio 5, CFX96, Rotor-Gene 3000 / 6000 / Q, DT-96, DTprime, DTlite;
- Suitable for breeding programs, cattle verification and scientific research.
