Description
PURPOSE
«ALZYME K» Proteinase is intended for purification of enzyme mixtures and cell lysates from proteins during RNA/DNA isolation from microorganisms, cell cultures, plants and other samples, for inactivation of nucleases and increasing the efficiency of tissue lysis during nucleic acid isolation. Applications include molecular and cell biology, immunohistochemistry and other areas of biology and chemistry, including preparation of chromosomal DNA for electrophoresis, Western blotting and nuclease removal in DNA and RNA preparations.
CHARACTERISTICS
- cleaves peptide bonds on the carboxyl group side of aromatic, aliphatic and hydrophobic amino acids;
- the enzyme is stable in urea, SDS, EDTA and has the ability to degrade proteins;
- reduce RNase and DNase activity and purify enzyme mixtures / cell lysates from proteins;
- retains activity in a wide pH range (optimally 6.5-9.5) & relatively high temperatures (optimally 50-65 °C),
- functions in the presence of chaotropic salts and detergents.
- Can be inactivated by incubating at 95 °C for 10 min.
