Description

Buffer solution «ALCHEM TGS» is used as an electrode buffer during denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for separating proteins according to their molecular weight.

  • Tris provides buffering capacity for maintaining constant pH of solution;
  • Glycine is an ionic carrier in the electrophoretic system, facilitating the movement of charged molecules through the gel by applying an electric field;
  • SDS denatures proteins, giving them a negative charge, which ensures their migration in the gel;
  • Buffer is provided as a 10x concentrate. It must be diluted with deionized water before use.
