Description
PURPOSE
«ALFLOW Count» Fluorescent Microspheres are a suspension of fluorescent polystyrene microbeads that have uniform size and fluorescence intensity. They are designed to determine absolute cell counts by flow cytometry. «ALFLOW Count» Fluorescent Microspheres can be used with flow cytometers equipped with a blue laser (488 nm) or blue and red lasers.
PRINCIPLE OF USE
Fluorescent microspheres are ready to use. No additional preparation is necessary. The principle of test depends upon mixing a known volume and concentration of ALFLOW Count Microspheres with an identical volume of a biological specimen. During the analysis on a flow cytometer, the absolute number (cells/μL) of cells in the sample can be determined by comparing cellular events to fluorescent microspheres events. Since the concentration of fluorescent microspheres is predetermined, the ratio of the number of cells to the number of microspheres can be determined and the absolute number of cells in the sample can be calculated.
