For preparation of microorganism samples and calibration of masses for MALDI-TOF spectrometry.

It is intended for preparation of samples of microorganisms of 3-4 pathogenicity groups for species identification and calibration of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers by typical Escherichia coli protein profile. The principle of the method is based on treatment of analyzed samples with a matrix to reduce the destructive properties of laser radiation and also obtaining mass spectra of protein profiles of identified microorganisms.

Adapted for the ALMASS Bio» System (Algimed Techno LLC, Russia) or similar MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers.
Different versions of the kit depending on the user’s needs.
Designed for up to 9,000 identifications*.

Description

ALMASS Bio 3K

This version of the kit is intended for preparing of samples of microorganisms of 3-4 pathogenicity groups isolated from clinical samples during their species identification, and for calibration of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers by typical Escherichia coli protein profile bacteria as an auxiliary tool for in vitro diagnostics of infectious diseases. It is designed to perform at least 3000 identifications (at least 210 application points of «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent for calibration).

Includes:

«ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent – a purified protein extract of Escherichia coli DH5 alpha strain, which demonstrates a typical protein profile of the bacterium during mass spectrometric analysis and it is used for mass calibration;
«ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagent – α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (CHCA) is used as a matrix for «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent and analyzed samples, providing reduction of destructive effect of laser radiation during analysis;
«ALMASS Bio Solvent» – a solvent for «ALMASS Bio Standart» and «ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagents.

ALMASS Bio 9K

ALMASS Bio Standart

This version of the kit is intended for calibration of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers by typical Escherichia coli protein profile bacteria as an auxiliary tool for in vitro diagnostics of infectious diseases. It is produced in a set sufficient for carrying out at least 9000 identifications (at least 630 points of reagent application for calibration), does not include the reagent «ALMASS Bio Matrix».

Includes:

«ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent – a purified protein extract of Escherichia coli DH5 alpha strain, which demonstrates a typical protein profile of the bacterium during mass spectrometric analysis and it is used for mass calibration;
«ALMASS Bio Solvent» – a solvent for «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent.

ALMASS Bio Matrix

Provides reduction of destructive effect of laser radiation during mass spectrometric analysis. It is available in a kit sufficient for at least 9000 identifications (at least 9000 µl of «ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagent working solution), does not include «ALMASS Bio Standart» reagent.

Includes:

«ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagent ‒ α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (CHCA) is used as a matrix for standard and analysed samples, providing reduction of destructive effect of laser radiation during analysis;
«ALMASS Bio Solvent» reagent ‒ a solvent for «ALMASS Bio Matrix» reagent.

Note (*) – the number of identifications is indicated for mass calibration when working with the mass spectrometric analysis system «ALMASS Bio» according to TU 26.60.12-008-57564538-2022 manufactured by «Algimed Techno» LLC; on MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers of other manufacturers the number of identifications may differ.
