«ALPREP Plant-M» Reagent kit
«ALPREP Plant-M» Reagent kit is designed for DNA/RNA extraction from plant tissue samples and can be used in laboratories of research institutes, as well as in institutions monitoring plant phytosanitary status, their species/variety identification, and detecting transgenic lines.
Sample materials
The following materials can be used to obtain DNA/RNA preparations:
- Green parts of plants (leaves, stems, buds);
- Woody stems;
- Fruits (dry and fleshy);
- Roots.
The nucleic acid yield depends on the plant species, storage conditions and storage period of the sample, as well as on the homogenization quality.

The assay principle is based on the reversible binding of nucleic acids to the magnetic particle surfaces, which are easily precipitated from the suspension using a magnetic rack. This is preceded by lysis of the sample and its treatment with a precipitating solution. As a result, most of the impurities are precipitated, while the nucleic acids remain in solution. Nucleic acids are washed with wash solutions and eluted in low-salt buffer after sorption on magnetic particles.
