Description
PURPOSE
«ALVETPREP» Extraction kit is designed for manual or automated DNA/RNA extraction from various biological and veterinary samples for subsequent analysis by PCR and reverse transcription PCR. The kit includes reagents that ensure highly purified DNA/RNA extraction and PCR inhibitors removal. For DNA extraction from samples of animal origin, a preliminary lysis step is required using the «ALPREP Prelysis» kit & Proteinase K («ALZYME K»), which are not included in this kit.
ASSAY PRINCIPLE
The principle of reagent kit is based on the method of reversible binding of nucleic acids to the surface of magnetic sorbent particles. The sample is treated with a lysis solution in the presence of magnetic sorbent particles, which results in the disruption of cell membranes, viral envelopes, and other biopolymer complexes, freeing the nucleic acids. The dissolved RNA/DNA binds to the sorbent particles while other components of the lysed biological material remain in solution and are removed by subsequent washes when the sorbent is pelleted on a magnetic stand. Upon addition of the elution buffer, DNA/RNA is eluted into the solution, which is then separated from the sorbent particles by magnetic force. As a result of this procedure, a highly purified DNA/RNA preparation is obtained.

ADVANTAGES

- Manual extraction time from one sample is up to 40 minutes; automated extraction from 96 samples takes up to 45 minutes.
